Overview

From the PRX website:

Public Radio Exchange (PRX) is an online marketplace for distribution, review, and licensing of public radio programming. PRX is also a growing social network and community of listeners, producers, and stations collaborating to reshape public radio.

Create your user account

1. go to http://www.prx.org/, and create your own account - click on SIGN UP

be prepared to give them a Username, your email address, a password longer than 4 characters, first name, last name.

Under ROLE, choose PRODUCER/REPORTER: STATION-BASED

Country = UNITED STATES Postal code = use the station's 63103 City = St. Louis

Click the box stating I agree to the terms of use and privacy policy.

You will then be sent an email that you will need to confirm to activate your account.

Once activated, login to PRX.

2. request permission from Admin (Andy or Chris) to be added to KDHX group as "producer"

Prepare episode data

3. prepare the episode data by using the PRX mp2 converter - drag wav or AIF of episode data to converter, new mp2 file will dump in same folder as original (screen grab)- cking w/ Andy to make sure this is separate app and not done on the PRX website somewhere.

4. Login to PRX.org and click on "My PRX" on the far right. 5. Under PIECES AND SERIES, choose "Create New Piece" 6. Choose "browse" at PRX uploader, and locate the mp2s for upload

Fill in these fields in the first tab "Basic":

Account: KDHX check box - piece is part of "series" Collector's Edition Title (eg): Live at KDHX: The Treetop Flyers 8/25/13 Short Description: "The Treetop Flyers perform live in the studios of KDHX in St. Louis on August 25, 2013." Long Description: "This piece airs in two segments: Part 1: 13:52 Part 2: 12:45" Once processing of uploaded pieces allows, alter title of each segment to the name of the band featured - if in two parts, use [band name], part 1 / [band name], part 2

Continue with the info needed in the tab "Details" Add Christian Schaeffer as producer Upload Collector's Image from local episode data folder (no caption or credit needed) Typically, no date pegs are needed In Topics, choose: Entertainment and Music In Formats, choose: Interview and Weekly Program In Tones, choose: Sound-Rich, Engaging, and Intimate Add the tag manually: Live Performance

List musical works - use log file if provided, or review session audio data from server's Live In Studio AV volume > Board Master Authoring folder

Continue with "Permissions" Tab info Station pricing: change to FREE Offer piece on station website: Streaming Only Edit or excerpt: Never
