Overview
From the PRX website:
- Public Radio Exchange (PRX) is an online marketplace for distribution, review, and licensing of public radio programming. PRX is also a growing social network and community of listeners, producers, and stations collaborating to reshape public radio.
Create your user account
- Go to prx.org, click on SIGN UP and create your own account.
- - Be prepared to provide a Username, your email address, a password longer than 4 characters, first name and last name.
- - Under ROLE, choose PRODUCER/REPORTER: STATION-BASED.
- - Country = UNITED STATES.
- - Postal code = use the station's 63103.
- - City = St. Louis
- - Click the box stating I agree to the terms of use and privacy policy.
- You will then be sent an email that will need to be confirmed in order to activate your account.
- Once activated, write to Administrator Andy Coco (coco at kdhx dot org) and ask to be added to the KDHX group as a Producer.
Prepare episode data
- Prepare the episode data by using the PRX mp2 converter. Drag the wav or AIF of your episode to the converter, a new mp2 file will dump in same episode folder as original.
- Login to prx.org and click on MY PRX on the far right.
- Under Pieces and Series, choose Create New Piece.
Basic uploader
6. In the new window that opens, click the check box next to "Use the basic uploader". Then click on the CHOOSE FILE button under "Browse for an audio file:" in the PRX uploader, and locate the mp2s that you converted for upload.

In the first tab labeled "Basic", fill in the following information.

Account: KDHX check box - piece is part of "series" Collector's Edition
Title: "Live at KDHX:" + Band Name + recording date, ex. Live at KDHX: The Treetop Flyers 8/25/13
Short Description: ex. "The Treetop Flyers perform live in the studios of KDHX in St. Louis on August 25, 2013."
Long Description:
This piece airs in two segments:
Part 1: 13:52
Part 2: 12:45
Once processing of uploaded pieces allows, alter title of each segment to the name of the band featured - if in two parts, use [band name], part 1 / [band name], part 2 (what????-VT)
