PRX Content Prep Guide
Generate PRX Profile
- go to http://www.prx.org/, and create your own account - click on SIGN UP
- request permission from Admin (Andy) to be added to KDHX group as "producer"
- prepare the episode data by using the mp2 converter (installed in AV2 and Prod1) - drag WAV or AIF of episode data to converter software icon on dock below, and the new mp2 file will dump in same folder as original
- Login to PRX.org and click on "My PRX"
Series & Piece Preparation
- Choose "Create New Piece"
- Choose "browse" at PRX uploader, and locate the mp2s for upload
Fill in these fields in the first tab "Basic":
Account: KDHX
check box - piece is part of "series" Collector's Edition
Title (eg): Live at KDHX: The Treetop Flyers 8/25/13
Short Description: "The Treetop Flyers perform live in the studios of KDHX in St. Louis on August 25, 2013."
Long Description: "This piece airs in two segments:
Part 1: 13:52
Part 2: 12:45"
Once processing of uploaded pieces allows, alter title of each segment to the name of the band featured - if in two parts, use [band name], part 1 / [band name], part 2
Begin Publishing Process
After each segment from the episode has uploaded...
Continue with the info needed in the tab "Details"
Add the name of the Show Host as producer
Upload Show's square Image (request from Andy, or find inb PRX Syndication folder on server (no caption or credit needed)
Typically, no date pegs are needed
In Topics, choose: Entertainment and Music
In Formats, choose: Interview and Weekly Program
In Tones, choose: Sound-Rich, Engaging, and Intimate
Add the tag manually: Live Performance
List musical works - use log file from Spinitron - request episode playlist text by date from Music Director Nick or Andy
Production Date will be Collector's episode original airdate Related website: http://kdhx.org/play/radio-shows/collectors-edition
Continue with "Permissions" Tab info Station pricing: change to FREE Offer piece on station website: Streaming Only Edit or excerpt: Never
Continue by reviewing the post in the "Publish" window - seek typos and needed corrections prior to clicking "publish" at bottom right. Use tabs above to go back and make corrections if needed.
