This guide details the new procedure for airing top of hour messages on ALL KDHX programs.
The general concept: using our AUTOMATION SYSTEM to make certain grouped spots and other pre-recorded content playout automatically - in particular, the Underwriting TAGs that are sporadically scheduled to follow our daily calendars and sponsored features.
The detail: use the "W/O Next" green button to trigger a new type of item in the system called a "state change." It will have the word AUTO in bold letters on it, and will trigger a change from "Manual" operation mode - during which you trigger the playout of each item with the button - to "Automatic" mode, where the system just plays whatever it has in line until it either runs out of material, or is reverted back to Manual mode.
The Process:
- after you've completed the live read, press the green button to advance that item in the stack, essentially cueing up the next item: AUTO.
- at the scheduled time (either one minute or 3:00 before the hour), press the green button to trigger the item "AUTO"
- Notice the time countdown area of the display now shows the word "AUTOMATIC" under the time
- Each item plays automatically until the system reverts back to Manual Mode.
Tips and Reminders:
- We lose revenue at each instance a spot is mis played of fired late.
