Overview

This page will provide you with information needed to create a YouTube Playlist for Live at KDHX videos. This article assumes that you have some basic familiarity in using Firefox or Chrome, as well as YouTube. Do not use Safari, Firefox or Chrome are the preferred browsers.

If you are unfamiliar or a little rusty on YouTube, please take a few minutes to review this short video detailing the creation and management of playlists.

How to Create a Playlist on Your YouTube Channel

Getting started

  1. Find the small KDHX logo in the upper right corner of the window.
  2. Click on the logo, a small user information window will drop into view.
  3. Click on the Creator Studio button.

  4. A new window for the Creator Studio will open. Notice the video thumbnails near the top of the page, and directly under them find the link View all. Click on this link.

  5. Now a new window containing a long list of videos with their thumbnails shown will appear.

The most recent uploads will float to the top of this list. If you are having trouble locating a specific band or video, refer to the diagram below with details on a few useful screen components that will assist in your search.

Error creating thumbnail: File missing
A: Checkboxes for choosing multiple videos.
B: Search videos - use to find a specific band or artist name, use accurate spelling.
C: View drop list with several options for display.
D: Security status icon - a lock indicates that the video is Private, an opened lock indicates that it is Unlisted, and a picture of the Earth indicates Public.

Creating the Playlist

  1. Using the checkboxes to the left of the video thumbnails, check all that you would like to include in your new playlist.
  2. Click on the Add To button, shown as item E in the diagram above.
  3. A new drop menu will appear, showing the most recently created playlist at the top. You can now add these chosen videos to an existing playlist, or click on Create new playlist at the bottom of the list.
  4. Fill in the new playlist title, using the following format: [Band/artist name] Live at KDHX [MM/DD/YY]. ex. Tommy Halloran Live at KDHX 3/12/14
  5. You will also need to change the Security status from the default of Public to Private.

The playlist is now created. You can continue to add videos to your new playlist, or create more playlists.

Adding a playlist description

Additional information

If you want to view your Playlist now, just click on Playlists on the left, click the one you want, and copy the URL and paste it into a browser window.

Remember to log out of YouTube when you are finished.
